Old Mortality has 17 page introduction, (presumed by Scott) 461 pp. with index; Fortunes of Nigel has 29 page introduction by Cuthbert Clutterbuck written in 1822, then 476 pages including index, notes and glossary. No date, circa about 1900.

Edinburgh: Adam And Charles Black, 1879 An All But Pristine Set, Half Tan Leather On Water Marked Boards 5 Raised Banded Spine With Red Portion With Gilt 'Waverley Novels' And Vol Number In Second Band And Books Titles On 4Th Blue Band In Gilt. Gilt Decor Between Other Gilt Bands. Text Blocks Are All Watermarked Pattern Same As The Boards. The Books Feel Unopened, And All Bindings Are Very Tight. Very Little Wear To Any Volume Though Vol 6 And 10 Have An Illustration Loose On Each But Both Present In The Book. It Appears As Though This Was A Binding Fault Since The Page Is Not Proud In The Pages. A Beautiful Set Of The Waverley Novels In 12 Beautiful Volumes.
