Description:
Philadelphia: J. B. Lippincott & Company. Fair. 1874. Sixth Edition. Hardcover. Engraved plates, folding; Large 8vo 9" - 10" tall; 670 pages; 1874 J. B. Lippincott & Company. 6th edition of the Sale translation. HC in original cloth. I will call this a binding copy. In other words the best approach is to have the book rebound. Cloth ta spine almost entirely lost to bio predation or silverfish damage. Original coated brown endpapers are present and the text block remains generally sound. Several folding engraved plates are complete, though with a partial tear to the fold of the Map of Arabia and light silverfis predation to other plates at edges where they extruded from the front edge. A few scattered instances of finger soiling to pages. Cloth sides worn and with some outline of damp stains. A pretty solid candidate for rebinding. Fair only with all faults .
