A glassine wrapper is also included to 'New Verse'. Ink inscription to the front free end paper of 'New Verse', dated 1927. Robert Bridges (1844-1930) achieved literary fame only late in life, and was Poet Laureate from 1913 to 1930. His poems reflect a deep Christian faith, and he is the author of many well-known hymns.
