(Photographs upon request). 15 volumes uniformly bound in 1/2 tan leather over marbled boards, decorative gilt embossed spines and titling on red and blue panels between the raised bands, marbled endpapers and edges.

A smart set of these great histories in Victorian half calf with gilt raised bands and fine gilt tooling to the panels. Marbled edges and endpapers. In very good conditions. Some rubbing and darkening to spines, some rubbing to edges and bumps to corners. Thin chip to top of spine v.1. Boards are bright and clean. Bookplates to endpapers “Edward Brodie Hoare.” Some minor light foxing to endpapers else inside pages all very clean and tight. A very handsome set. 15 vols. Illustrated with 15 B&W portrait engravings A splendid set of the works of this great American historian.
