Circa 1870, handwritten in ink on both sides of a sheet of notepaper with embossed address: Windlesham Court, Bagshot, 150 x 200 mm, 6 x 7¾ inches, folded vertically and written on the 4 panels, signed off on the first panel at the top: "My dear Grant, I got your note to the Savile two or 3 days ago, and your letter yesterday. I'll be very glad if you will send the photograph here, that impenitent thief Guy made no sign on the subject. You must have had a delightful tour. London. Good. N.D.. Softcover. The letters have a circle, approx. 4" across, of light rubbing or light soil, although all text is still legible. This area is predominantly on the longer of the two letters. ; Two handwritten letters, one and two pages, signed A Lang. Each approx. 4 3/8" wide by 7". Printed heading 1, Marloes Road, Kensington. One is dated merely Jan. 11, the other is not dated. Both are mounted to the same piece of backing paper. To unidentified recipients, although one is annotated in pencil in an unknown hand "E. Matthews", indicating that bookseller Elkin Matthews was the recipient. On literary matters, including the desire to buy two items from a catalog. .
