Hardcover, black cloth boards with gilt to spine. Exterior shows very light spotting along with edge bumps. Internal binding is good and text pages are tight. Front pastedown is a bookplate showing this book was from the Private Library of W. H. Stout. There is also a small check mark just to the right of the bookplate. Front and rear end pages/pastedowns show some spotting and foxing, text pages are toned but are overall clean. There are a few very light smudge marks though this seems mainly limited to the half title page. Stated first edition on the copyright page.
