Funk & Wagnalls Company, 1945. Hardcover. Very Good/No DJ. Vintage 2 Volume Hardcover Set, Vol 1, 1945 - 424 pages. Vol 2, 1945 - 424 pages plus a supplement of 62 pages. Both volumes are Very Good, minus the DJ's. Minor shelf/edge wear to black cloth spines with silver titles over patterned cloth boards - corners sharp with wear to the tips. Vol 2 has a slight shelf lean. Endpapers have some offsetting. No previous owner markings - all pages are clean and unmarked. Loaded with illustrations , diagrams and photos. One of the classics of the subject. All the great post-war custom gunsmiths had this set in their libraries and they were well used. When you look at a custom rifle from the late 40's through the 60's, you can be sure that the knowledge from this set was a factor in producing it. Highly recommended. A very respectable set, minus the DJ's. LOC SSM-08

Hardcover. Very Good. First edition, signed by author. Inscription reads "With the best wishes of the author" and signed by Howe. Box, which is fairly well scraped up and tape repaired has protected by books well. This is very little exterior wear and the books are clean and unmarked. rb17.
