London: John Murray, 1850. Leather. Very Good Indeed. 8" by 5". None. A collection of tales by Friedrich Wilhelm Hacklander. Containing 'The Austrian Campaign in Piedmont 1849', translated from the German of F W Hacklander; 'Notice of the Defence of Temeswar'; and 'The Camp of the Ban.' With a map to the rear. A scarce work. Hacklander was a successful German author. his humorous and realistic style made him one of the most widely read German authors of his time. In a half calf binding with paper covered boards. Externally, generally smart with patches of light rubbing to the boards and to the spine. Further rubbing to the extremities and to the joints. Front endpaper is loosening ever so slightly at the head. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright. Spots to the first and last few pages. The odd spot found throughout. Work is preserved in a plastic wrap. Very Good Indeed
