First Folio Edition; Roy. 8vo; pp. 115, (1); coloured frontispiece, text with 8 full page coloured plates, original binding by W & J Mackay Limited using Scholco Coloreta cloth blocked with a design by Fiona Campbell, housed in original card slipcase, slip case a little worn otherwise a very good copy. The work "Praise of Folly" is considered one of the most notable works of the Renaissance and played an important role in the beginnings of the Protestant Reformation. Its role stems from its criticism of the practices of the Church and its political allies.
