Author's first novel set in Sac Prairie (a thinly disguised Sauk City), Wisconsin, set over a three-year period in the late 1800s. "A flawed, but highly interesting book for Derleth fans." A true FIRST EDITION, first printing (with the requisite "A") from 1937, this hardcover has matte black cloth-covered boards with green design & lettering to front & spine. Condition is just Good: generally clean, with moderate tanning, heavier around all page edges & to endpapers. Binding strong & straight, rubbing to extremities, heavy at both ends of spine & all corners (with some cloth fraying & bumping).
