Strong binding, with all pages apparently secure. **A very smart copy. Charles Douglas Medley 1870-1963. Lawyer Field Roscoe & Co., an authority on authors' copyright who acted for Somerset Maugham, George Bernard Shaw, Richard Aldington, D.H. Lawrence and Noël Coward, among others, and who numbered George Moore and Harley Granville-Barker among his closest friends.
Charles was the son of Rev Edward Medley and Emily Grey Birrell. Nephew of Rev William Medley (the dedicator of this book) and Harriet Eliza Birrell. Emily and Harriet were sisters of the Right Hon.
