A very well illustrated and detailed work by this fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and professor of medicine at King's College, London. Most of the illustrations were drawn by the author. 'third edition, with numerous original illustrations', in original cloth-covered boards, edges bevelled, title in gilt on spine, book restored and strengthened, with new endpapers (by myself), now quite sound, pp xxiv, 320, plus several pages of adverts for books by Beale, and a publication called Archives of Medicine. Early owner signature on top of title page, otherwise unmarked. Some of the gatherings are uncut. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Third Edition.. Hard Cover. Good/No Jacket.
