About This Item

New York: The Pictorial Review Company, 1927. 1st Edition 1st Printing. Soft cover. Good. Folio - over 12 - 15" tall. Good, as noted. Approaching Very Good. See scans and description. New York: The Pictorial Review Company, 1927. The September, 1927 issue of the extraordinarily scarce Pictorial Review, a collection of fiction, art and more by the specialists in those categories in the twenties. Folio - "bedsheet" size- at 13 7/8" tall; illustrated stapled wraps, 128 pp. Technically just good; subscriber's label on cover, some dust on covers, abrasion at spine causing several loose leaves, and seven coupons have been excised. Nonetheless, a rather stunning tour de force of the skills of romance writers and romance illustrators, something simply not to be found in any form today.Art Deco, Flapper-ish Fashion, Vintage Romance Fiction moods prevail. There are even paper dolls, in color, to be cut out and played with, still untouched. Very early Kotex ad. Charles Ransom Chickering; Arthur Dove; Joseph C. Lincoln; Clarence Kelland; Bessie Beatty; Earl Christy; Cameron Rogers; Mateel Howe Farnham; Juliet Tompkins et al are some of the contributors. Very, very scarce era period publication. Ships in a new, sturdy, protective box, of course - not a bag. LG8
