About This Item

New York: ACE. Good+. 1951. First Edition. Softcover. ACE #F-333, priced at 40 cents. Creased, small chip from back cover corner. Cover art bright. Toned. Importance: Rogue Queen is important in the history of science fiction for breaking the genre's taboo on sexual themes, paving the way for more daring works by Philip José Farmer and others. De Camp's approach to the charged issue was decidedly non-erotic and non-exploitive, treating it matter-of-factly as a part of his characters' lives that happened to be both incidental and integral to his plot. In effect, he normalizes it by making it a matter of discussion rather than depiction, relegating any awkwardness to the minds of the characters. From WikiPedia; 16mo – 5 ¾ - 6 ¾" tall. " .
