Ransome,] 1850 (dated in the plate). 610 x 440 mm.; image (without signature) measures 242 x 292 mm. A few faint spots in the margins, but very good.

First Edition. The largest and among the best portraits of paleontologist and zoologist Richard Owen, superintendent of the Natural History department of the British Museum, and one of Darwin's foremost adversaries.
