New York: Little, Brown & Co., 1988. First Edition . Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. This is a stated first edition. The interior of the book is crisp and clean, without even the name of a former owner. The green covers are in simillarly good condition, showing light bumps to the top and bottom of the spine, but no wear else. The gilt lettering is bright. The dust jacket is price-clipped, but shows only minor edgewear. It is now in a plastic cover and looks very attractive. Synopsis: "As she watches her parent's marriage deterioriate, eleven-year-old Eunice, the sensible child in the family, wants only to escape. Influenced by Thoreau's "Walden", she begins endurance training for her own wilderness.
