About This Item

Seattle: Terminal Publishing Company, 1914. First edition, limited to 300 copies, this copy unnumbered. 4to, 275pp. Photographs. Original green cloth boards, beveled edges, front cover stamped in gilt. Boards rubbed along edges, most notably at corners and spine ends. Clean and sound internally with slightly musty smell. Very good.

Important history of the city of Seattle by Welford Beaton (1874-?).  Beaton was born in Ontario and began his career writing for and editing various local newspapers.  A connection with the Seattle Times brought him to the city in 1903.  This work is well written and copiously illustrated with historic photos of the city.  Uncommon in the trade.
