Complete with fold out chart of Commodity Futures Trading in Detail. 8vo. Cloth worn, rubbed and rounded at corners and spine ends, one corner mildly bumped, heavily rubbed at base of front joint and around spine. Some mild toning and spotting on endpapers; hint of toning in page margins. A little loose. A comprehensive account of the development, functions and operating methods of Commodity Exchanges. The first commodity exchange was set up shortly after the American Civil War and since have often been held responsible for both inflation and deflation; at the peak of every inflationary spiral, Commodity Exchanges were blamed for high prices, and at the bottom of every slump, blamed for low prices. This volume offers a reassessment of their role and impact.
