About This Item
Warr Acres, Ok: Southwestern Publishing Co, 1940. Very good.. Lithographic map, with advertisements in top and right margins, the whole printed in blue, 18 x 24.5 inches. Folded. Top left and top middle quadrants toned, small tape remnant at top left, minor edge wear. An attractive midcentury promotional cadastral map of Grant County, Oklahoma. The map came "Compliments of Melvin's '66' Station" in Lamont, Oklahoma; an advertisement for Melvin's is also printed in the margins, along with ads for about fifteen other businesses in the area. The map shows Grant County divided into hundreds of small squares, and highlights the county's major cities, namely Wakita, Medford, Nash, Pond Creek, and Lamont. U.S. Highway 81 runs diagonally through the middle of the map. A legend at bottom right is keyed to about thirty features on the map.
