New Dictionary of the English Language 1924 Edition This book is an amazing wealth of information, containing more than just spellings of words, but meanings and phases, Lithograph pictures, colored pictures, vintage pictures of events Foreign Words, Phrases, Proverbs...just a wealth of information,back when you went to the dictionary for everything you might need to know.
The book is in poor-fair condition, the Copy-write page is missing from inside the cover, the soft cover is completely detached from the book. Some of the pages are detached or separated and/or curled up. There are 1103 pages in this dictionary with about 30 preface pages as well as a publisher's preface. Other than the copy-write page, I believe all the pages are there, just some are detached. The book was used to dry about 10 flowers in it, that has distorted some of the print or lifted the print from the pages, but out of 1100+ pages only a few were damaged by these flowers and none of the pictures, colored and black & white are damaged.
This Dictionary provides a wealth of "up to date" information, expanded versions and complete definitions of the time. The Publisher's Preface outlines the excitement, describing these "noteworthy" features not usual of previous Webster Dictionaries. It goes on to outline the highlights of this impressive reference.
