About This Item

Boston: Roberts Brothers, 1885. Helen Jackson ("H.H.," "Helen Hunt Jackson") was most famous for her novel of the California Mission Indians, "Ramona," and her advocacy for the American Indian in "A Century of Dishonor." This is a Very Good copy of the First Edition. Green cloth binding, decoratively stamped in black on the cover, black and gilt on the spine. Clean text; 253 pages, with two pages of publisher's ads in the rear. The publisher has also inserted a one-page advert in the front endpapers. Contemporary (1886) previous-owner signature on the FFEP. Bumped; slight tan to page edges, rear cover rather mottled. Size: 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. First Edition.. Decorative Cloth. Very Good/No Jacket.
