Born into a prosperous family, the author grew up in Manhattan in the latter part of the 19th century. In this work, she describes the transformation of New York, from a leisurely town to a vibrant metropolis. With sixteen pages of photos from her family album. --- In light blue cloth-covered boards with blue and orange spine titling and decorations. Volume wrapped in jacket with a photographic portrait of the author to front panel. --- A well-preserved copy: tightly-bound and unmarked. Price-clipped dust jacket also in excellent condition, though with a little mild creasing; wrapped in removable archival mylar protector.; Octavo - 8 to 9 in. tall; (8), 205 pages .
