About This Item
Published by The Sunday School Union, London; undated. 4to. 476pp. Condition: Good.
Bound in illustrated red cloth binding. There is fading in places to the boards and spine, and shelf wear to the edges. There is a little cracking internally to the spine, but all pages and illustrations are in tact. The pages are clean and bright and show very little signs of ageing past a touch of toning and the occasional spot or rub. In all, this is a smart example of this volume, which will sit nicely on any shelf in spite of the wear.
The Young England Magazine was a British boys magazine that ran from 1880 to 1937, and was a continuation of an earlier publication, "Kind Words for Boys and Girls". Although it began as a weekly magazine, publication then progressed to monthly and , finally, annual. It covered subjects such as adventure, school, history, sports and hobbies, as well as verse and puzzles.
