An exploration of the early part of the life of Edinburgh's James Boswell, the noted biographer of Samuel Johnson and author of other highly-praised works. With numerous illustrations, including a tissue-guarded frontis portrait of Boswell. --- In light brown paper-covered boards backed in darker brown cloth with titling on pasted-on tan paper spine label, TEG (top edge gilt). Volume lacks a dust jacket. --- Weakened front & rear hinges have been repaired on this item (but tears to paper at rear gutter area remain, which don't affect the stability of the binding). With mild cover corner bumps & mild chafing to extremities, else a clean, tightly-bound, bright copy.; Octavo - 8 to 9 in. tall; [18], 266 pages .
