New York: Farrar, Straus & Giroux, 1969. First Edition. Hardcover. Fine/Near Fine. Translated by Max Hayward. Edited and with Notes by Nathalie Babel. Fine in a Near Fine jacket, unclipped ($5.95), lightly toned at the edges, bumped at the head and foot of the spine, shallow chips at the top edge of the back panel. Purple cloth with silver gilt lettering on the spine. Firmly bound with a slight forward lean and red top stain, clean internally. A collection of nineteen Babel stories translated into English for the first time, two of which had never been published in their original Russian.
