London: William Heinemann Ltd, 1947. Cloth Bound Boards. Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. 1947 first edition. Size octavo, 7.75" tall, 600 pages. Black cloth covered boards with green and gilt titling to the front cover and spine. No dust jacket. Condition good, hinges loose, corners and spine ends rubbed, spine slightly faded, previous owner's name on the front paste-down, the pages are slightly toned otherwise clean. Thomas Wolfe was an American novelist of the early twentieth century. He wrote several big novels Look Homeward Angel 1929, Of Time and the River 1935. The Web and the Rock was written in 1939 but published posthumously the precursor to You Can't Go Home Again. He also wrote many short stories, dramatic works and novellas. His works vividly recreate American culture from the 1920s to 1940s.

Synopsis

Thomas Wolfe's You Can't Go Home Again tells the poignant story of a successful novelist, ostracized by family and friends, who subsequently embarks on a world-wide search for his own identity and personal renewal.
