A likely first printing, 1930 (per Bienvenue p.112), of the tenth in the series of the famous Oz books written by Ruth Plumly Thompson (successor to L. Frank Baum after his death in 1919). With 12 captioned color plates (none are missing), and also illustrated throughout in black & white by John R. Neill. --- In rust cloth-covered boards with color Neill illustration pasted to cover; spine with Neill illustration and titling in black; all textblock edges tinted in yellow. Volume lacks the dust jacket. --- A Good-only copy with repaired front & rear hinges which had loosened, prior owner's penciled name & bookplate affixed to front paste-down, penciled name on ownership page, small tear to cloth at head of spine, white streaks on spine & general light wear to cloth. A discreet Denver bookseller label is affixed to rear paste-down. Textblock itself is tightly-bound.; Tall Octavo - 9 to 10 in. tall; 275 pages .
