New York: D. Appleton and Company, 1927. First edition. Hardcover. Near Fine/Very Good+. 8vo. [4], v-vi, [2], 3-188, [1], [1] (page of publisher's advertisements) pp. Quarter blue cloth over tan textured boards with a paper label printed in blue on the spine. Price of $2.00 on the front flap of the dust jacket. With a card signed by Gale laid in. Women in Wisconsin, "Zona Gale". A collection of short stories from an early feminist figure, who made her home in south-central Wisconsin. Zona Gayle was a playwright and author who served as a mentor and friend to fellow Wisconsin author and feminist Margery Latimer. After graduating from UW-Madison in 1895, Gale worked as one of Milwaukee's first female newspaper reporters. A Near Fine book with just a touch of foxing to the boards' edges; dust jacket is Very Good+ with minor toning and a small discoloration to the rear panel.
