London: MacDonald & Co, 1968 0356023044. Hardback. First edition. VG. No DW. Size: 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. Cloth, 287 pp. No inscriptions or annotations but fine bookplate on front title page. This and front end page have been reinforced with white label. The story of Claud Cockburn's legendary political news-sheet which blew the gaff on the 1930s. An account of 'The Week', which began publication in 1933 under the control of its Marxist editor.. It was in many ways a precursor to 'Private Eye' in that many of the stories and disclosures of political and financial 'scandals' were provided by anonymous tip-offs. .
