Attractive little book with loads of character, Original oatmeal coloured boards, the front and rear boards are overlaid with decorative paper, the front cover carries the title in gilt backed by blind stamped decorative art work in the art nouveau style, the rear board cover is plain with the exception of a small motif from the printer, corners bowed, generally sound and clean, faded hand written name and address of a previous owner who lived in Guildford to front endpaper, uncut page edges, 90 pages, plenty of thought provoking quotations set within a single green line frame, includes a coloured plate of the Digbeth Institute. Size: 8.5 x 5.5 inches approx. Digbeth Institute was originally opened in 1908 and was owned by the Carrs Lane Church. It was regularly used for church groups, various meetings, shows and some exhibitions. It was eventually sold off to the City Council in 1955 as "no longer fit for the purpose it was built". It is now more renowned as a music venue with a capacity of 2, 400 in Digbeth, Birmingham, England, it has become synonymous in the development of the British rave music and drum and bass scene. This book comes from a more peaceful time when the venue was not associated with popular music. .
