Boston: Houghton Mifflin, 1926. limited edition. Hardcover. Very good. 8 1/2 x 11 in. 379 pp. Brown cloth with tan paper boards. Limitation pg states that the first edition of 1926 had a run of 156 numbered copies with an original drawing by Ashley - this copy is not numbered but does have a wonderful ink drawing of a whaler in the seas with a whale in the foreground, and is signed and dated 1932, from New Bedford. Condition of the book is VERY GOOD ; corners worn, covers toned with some foxing and tiny marks. Spine cloth is very good, spine a touch toned, and binding tight. The pictoral endpapers at the front have ragged breaks just at the inner joint, exposing some of the muslin, but the binding remains tight. The limitation pg and frontis have foxing, the title pg has very mild foxing. Text is bright and unmarked. Naut. RGR.
