About This Item

New York: Out of London Press, 1980 Extra shipping charge may apply for this item to some destinations. White wraps with black titles & dec., about 350 pp in all. Creases near spines and a few small spots to covers of Nos. 1 & 2, No. 3 is about fine. Articles on Italian literature are in English with frequent quotations in Italian, plus a reprint of an Italian-language document of about 30 pp in each issue. The editors express their intentions: "While retaining many of the instigations of the original Editorial and Advisory Boards, the present Editors find it necessary to explore new critical paths and modes of inquiry: tradition must be seen as transcendence rather than the norm. The most varied contributions are analogically related so as to generate the interanimation of philology and philosophy (rhetorics and hermeneutics). This tactic is not one of antithesis, but of oxymoron. From the non-place of our activity, the quest for definition is no more no less urgent than its denial, but we do not confuse the courageous exercise of imagination with irresponsible evasiveness and delusions of self-expression." Shipping weight 2 lbs.. Magazine. Very Good/No dj. 22 X 15 cm.
