Collections of Handel overtures, arranged for the harpsichord, were popular among 18th century English music lovers, enabling listeners to enjoy the grandeur of the opera in the comfort of their own homes. The arrangements are composed primarily in two- and three-part textures, with little ornamentation indicated, allowing players to decorate the melody or enrich the harmony at will.

A selection of Handel's overtures, elegantly arranged for harpsichord.
