Paris, Firmin Didot, 1875 Numbered Large Paper Edition 376/650.. Hardback, approx 10.5 x 7 inches. Tall 8vo. Red full-morocco leather binding with elaborate gold decorations & inner gilt dentelles. Raised banding & gilt lettering to spine. All page edges gilt. Marbled endpapers. In very good condition. Some minor rubbing to edges and corners, some rubbing to front spine hinge, some darkening and handling marks to edges of boards. Bookplate to front endpaper “William Packe.” Some light foxing to prelims, a couple of plates have some minor foxing (tissue guards have caught most of it) Bar some areas of mild foxing, inside pages are very clean and tight throughout. Else a very clean and tight copy. 520pp. 21 very nice COLOURED CHROMO. PLATES (incl. a very nice one of “The Royal Flag”, the Galley Flag, The Flag of the Merchant Navy )- and one of “Uniforms of the French Army”) 33 b&w plates, and upwards of 350 wood-engravings, some full-page. In French Language.
