Charles Scribner's Sons, 1900. Hardcover. Acceptable. 1900. No Edition Stated. 292 pages. No dust jacket. Red cloth with gilt titles and decoration to spine. Volume XVII in this series of Kipling's works. Rough cut pages. With illustrated frontispiece. Upper text block edge gilt. Pages have slight foxing, tanning and minor thumbing. Faint creases to some pages. Ex libris plate to front pastedown. A few edge tears and creases, as expected with rough cut paper. Text block edges dusty. Boards have some edge wear, with pronounced bumping and fraying to corners, while spine ends are heavily crushed and frayed. Rather scratched, rubbed and marked overall. Spine is noticeably sunned and stained. Gilt is bright.
