Book Club Associates, 1979. book club edition.. Hardback. Cloth, dj, VG/VG. 260pp, 16pp b/w plates, index, map, book cocked & dustjacket a little yellowed, otherwise a fine copy. Account of the shipwreck of the Nuestra Señora De La Concepción in 1641, which, due the well documented treasure hoard onboard inspired a succession of treasure hunters to flock to locate the site. In 1687 Sir William Phips succeeded & brought back to London £250,000 in booty. But the story did not end there - others went to the site & surfaced with treasure, right up until 1978 when the ships cargo was fully recovered.
