Constable, 1929. Both volumes of the second edition of the classic account of " Scott's Last Expedition from its departure from England in 1910 to its return to New Zealand in 1913." All maps and illustrations are present and in good order. Internally good copies, well bound and clean bar an owner's name and date on the flyleaf of each volume. The covers of both volumes are marked and have some surface wear and are only in fair condition. The previous owner's name is Sydney E Butler, present on the flyleaf of both volumes, and is presumed to be Sydney Butler nee Courtauld, the first wife of the Conservative politician Rab Butler, and the cousin of the Arctic explorer Augustine Courtauld.
