Near Fine. pp278 A comprehensive, lavishly illustrated catalogue of an exhibition held at The Pierpont Morgan Library, New York 27 January-2 May 1999. The catalogue is near fine in glossy photographic card wrappers, a little spotting and light shelf wear to the edges. Laid in: 2 cordial letters from Bryan Maggs to Martin Thorpe in which he discusses a 16th century German binding and two bookbinding tools, and encloses the catalogue "so you are one of the very first to see it". This book comes from the collection of Yorkshire bookbinder and bibliophile Martin E Thorpe who trained at Leeds College of Technology in the 1950's and founded the binders Etherington, Thorpe & Co Ltd. Extra postage charges may apply as this is a substantial volume. Near Fine 1999
