London: M. Flesher, 1647. Hardcover. Fair. 1353 p.; 34 cm. Signatures: B-3G6 3H4 3I-4H6 4I4 4K-N6 4O-P8 4Q-5X6 (-5X5, -5X6) 2o. Full calf with seven spine compartments between raised bands; red leather label in second compartment with gilt-tooled title "Hall's Works." All page edges red. Wing, H362. Lacking first signature (including frontispiece and engraved title page) and 32-page index following text; front endpapers replaced with 20th-century stock. Without the title page and other preliminary pages, it is not possible to determine which of the 1647 and 1648 printings this is. Each part has special title page with title vignette, dating variously 1639-1647. Woodcut headpieces and historiated initials. Contents: Meditations -- Epistles -- Apologetics -- Contemplations. Includes: Some Few of Davids Psalmes Metaphrased; Salomons Divine Arts; Pharisaisme and Christianitie; The Imprese of God; A Common Apologie of the Church of England Against the Unjust Challenges of the Overjust Sect, Commonly called Brownists; Quo Vadis? A Just Censure of Travell; The Honor of the Maried Clergie. In Fair Condition: lacking preliminaries, pp. 457-8 and [929-30], and index; leather is split along both joints, but stitching is holding; minor loss of leather at head of spine; slightly rubbed, primarily at corners; 4-cm. tear from lower edge of pp. 587-88, without loss; occasional light soiling; otherwise clean and bright.
