Edinburgh: A. Donaldson, 1771. This is a Very Good copy of Volume XII (of 12) of the Fifth Edition of Fielding's works. Full leather binding; five raised bands on the spine with gilt lettering and decorations. This volume contains essays: "Essay on Conversation," "An Essay on the Knowledge of the Character of Men," "The Covent-Garden Journal," "A Charge to the Grand Jury of Westminster," "Journal of a Voyage to Lisbon," and "Fragment of a Comment on LordHolingbroke's Essays." Clean text; 348 pages. Marbled endpapers. The text is excellent; very clear and supple, easily read today. The covers are rubbed at the edges and the edges a bit dusty; some staining at the edges, but the spine remains bright - very attractive when shelved.. Fifth Edition. Full-Leather. Very Good/No Jacket. 16mo - over 5¾" - 6¾" tall.
