About This Item

London: W. Strahan (and 22 Others), 1783. Here is a Very Good copy of Fielding's plays that were acted in London 1732-1734. Included are"The Mock Doctor: Or, The Dumb Lady Cured," "The Covent-Garden Tragedy," "The Debauchees; Or, The Jesuit Caught," "The Miser," "The Intriguing Chambermaid," "Don Quixote in England," and "An Old Man Taught Wisdom: Or, The Virgin Unmask'd." Smooth calf binding with gilt decorations on the spine. Clean text; 335 pages. Nice frontis engraving. There is an armorial bookplate on the front paste-down. Bumped; and rather heavily rubbed on the spine where most of the titling gilt has disappeared (although the gilt decorations can be made out). The hinges are cracked but holding; a bit of reinforcement would be of help here.. First Thus. Full-Leather. Very Good/No Jacket. 16mo - over 5¾" - 6¾" tall.
