Half leather over marbled boards with gilt spine titling and decorations. Marbled endpapers, top edge gilt. Frontispieces and several plates of portrait engravings. Illustrated title pages. Bookplates of Thomas Jefferson Murray on inside front boards. Light fading to spines and minor edge wear, else fine. Lamb, best known for introducting generations of children to Shakespeare through his Tales from Shakespeare, was also a prolific essayist, letter-writer, critic, playwright and poet. Lamb's The Adventures of Ulysses was the version of The Odyssey that inspired Joyce's groundbreaking novel Ulysses.
