About This Item
New York: Worcester Salt Company, 1910. 32 pages. Written by the editor of the Boston Cooking School Magazine. Precedes a more common 1931 Worcester cook book. Harvard University Library suggests a publication date circa 1910, but an ad for iodized salt on the rear cover suggests post-1924, the date generally accepted as the first use of iodized salt in the United States. An interesting question for the buyer to research! There are no salt-free or low sodium recipes in this cook book. The first ad claims that Worcester has more sodium than any other brand, and the first sentence on page 3 proclaims, "Food withou salt would not keep you alive." The book is in very good condition: clean and bright, with a tiny chip out of the bottom corner of the front cover... First Edition. Paperback. Collectible-Very Good. 16mo - over 5¾" - 6¾" tall.
