Text gives a history of this age old art, how to treat and prepare wood, necessary tools and equipment, pointers in design, and create works of your own. Skinner's much admired works include the war memorial at Battersea Parish Church in high relief (1948), and The Risen Christ in Glory (1960) in St Paul's Church, Lorrimore Square, Southwark.
