About This Item
United Kingdom: Alan Clore Films, 1968. Vintage borderless photograph of the bottom half of Jane Birkin (with Jean Harlow and Greta Garbo looking on) from the 1968 film. With manuscript annotations on the verso.
The absent minded professor Oscar Collins (Jack MacGowran) follows a beam of light coming through his wall to find his next door neighbor, Penny Lane, a model, and her photographer boyfriend (Ian Quarrier) having a photo shoot. He becomes lost in his observations and half dreams as his infatuation for Penny grows. Famous for its psychedelic visuals and George Harrison soundtrack. The film premiered at the 1968 Cannes Film Festival and eventually made its way to the American midnight movie circuit in the 1970s.
