Chicago, IL, U.S.A.: International View Co. , 1901. Edge and corner worn, scuffed, scratched and stained along the edges, some fraying in the top and base of the spine, corners are bumped and rubbed, former owner's name and a date in ink on the ffep, former owner's library label is affixed to the inner front cover, a couple of loose pages in the front and back, light stain in the base of about the first half of the pages (not affecting captions or readability), text block is removed from the case but still attached in the rear, overall a poor to fair copy with the photographs and captions being in good condition (very crisp and bright and all there). This is a very very rare title and a must have even in this condition! Prolificly illustrated with vintage full-color photographs! Extremely scarce! Tan cloth with blue and red lettering on the front cover and a blue military illustration. "Nothing like them ever before undertaken. Many photographs, secured at fearful risk to the photographer, of scenes in line of actual hostilities and some genuine battle scenes. These magnificent, matchless views were all caught by the camera in their natural colors, and show, just as they are presented here, the natives in their most romantic manner of every-day live, and reproduce the American soldiers in some of their most dangerous and exciting actions of actual warfare.....". First Edition. Tan Cloth. Fair/No Jacket. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. Hardcover.
