Brown printed softcover measuring 6 x 3.75 inches. Housed in quarterbound black leather and brown cloth clamshell case and further housed in matching brown cloth slipcase. Included in pocket inside clamshell case is a printed stapled softcover booklet: Explanatory Notes to the First Book Written About Petroleum. As the title of the explanatory booklet notes, this book by Gale was the first book to describe the extraction of petroleum. An interesting reference source about the beginnings of the petroleum industry and a sharply presented publication. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; [20] pages .
