Stated First edition, 8vo. 253pages cloth Whitcher wrote a highly popular series of humorous sketches in the tradition of the Yankee yarn-spinner during the mid 19th Century, Whitcher's sketches were featured in Neal's Saturday Gazette and Godey's Lady's Book. Her collection of sketches was published posthumously as âThe Widow Bedott Papers.' winner of the John Ben Snow Prize; very good in very good dust jacket.
