Rose Cecil O'Neill was the first published female cartoonist in the United States, her Kewpie cartoons having made their debut appearance a year earlier in an issue of Ladies' Home Journal, Also features a full-page color illustration of a charming Jessie Willcox Smith painting titled " Little drops of water". .
