Heavy erasure to the front endpaper; covers a bit marked and soiled, very good in a supplied second-printing dust jacket, chipped and with a long diagonal tear to the rear panel mended with tape on the underside.. 8vo, 253pp; gray cloth, pictorial endpapers. Melodramatic novel of the debauchery of a young woman. Reck-Malleczewen was a popular writer who ran afoul of the Nazi regime, which he vehemently opposed. He died at the Dachau concentration camp in 1945. The pictorial endpapers are by George T. Hartmann.
